Blunt Blowin’ Mama was founded in December 2017 by Shonitria Anthony. The cannabis lifestyle platform aims to normalize parents who consume cannabis by having open and honest conversations about the plant. The Blunt Blowin’ Mama platform consists of a popular Instagram page (which has over 27,700 followers), the top-rated weekly Blunt Blowin’ Mama podcast, BBM merchandise (which consists of statement making pro-cannabis shirts), events, a membership, and a website. 

Shonitria is a journalist with years of editor experience at popular publications such as ABC News, the Huffington Post, Blavity and Reader’s Digest. She is also a mom and a passionate cannabis advocate who currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where she runs Blunt Blowin’ Mama. The merchandise can currently be found in dispensaries in Canada with plans to expand to more locations in California in 2021. The Blunt Blowin’ Mama podcast has over 75,000 downloads and in 2019 it was named one of the “Top eight cannabis podcasts you need in your life” by Forbes. 

The Blunt Blowin’ Mama podcast was spotlighted shortly after its launch on Blavity with a feature article titled, “Meet the ‘Blunt Blowin’ Mama’ who wants to empower other weed-smoking moms with her new podcast.” Blunt Blowin’ Mama has also been featured in xoNecole, Popsugar, and Cassius.
